Florence Kahn: The "Mother of the FBI"
Mary Goldsmith Prag was an impressive figure, serving as an educator in San Francisco the first Jewish member of the San Francisco Board of Education. One of her students was Julius Kahn, who would be elected to Congress in 1898. The following year, her daughter, Florence Prag (1866-1948), also an educator, married Kahn.
